Whatever your musical niche, whether you’re a clubber or a metal fan, there’s a European festival for you – though regardless of your preferred genre, it’s important to make sure you’ve got all the essentials when you’re heading out to party, mosh, or both: sunscreen for the hot weather, a decent sweater for the late nights, and headphones for the journey to and from.

The new Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro are an excellent companion for festival season wherever you happen to be off to – they’ve got Active Noise Cancellation for when you’re trying to navigate a new place, and don’t need the distraction of traffic or construction noises, plus their Real-Time Interpreter feature uses Galaxy AI* to help you understand different languages as they’re being spoken to you, so they’re ideal for a festival abroad. Plus, the Adaptive EQ automatically adjusts the audio levels depending on what you are listening to. Meanwhile, 24bit Audio** has superior audio spec – so you can hear every note with crystal clear quality.

Below, we’ve collated five of our favourite specialist music festivals, in case you’re in need of some last-minute summer gig-tripping inspiration.

Unsound Festival: Krakow, Poland

September 29 - October 6

What is it? A festival whose focus is more about ethos than genre: Unsound embraces everything experimental, leftfield and surprising.

Why go? Unsound is a genuinely unique experience, which comprises panel discussions and standalone shows – including one this year by Dublin’s Lankum – alongside the main festival event. It’s also an excellent excuse to see historic Krakow, which you’ll be able to navigate around seamlessly, using the Galaxy Buds3 Pro Real Time Interpreter* feature, which translates Polish to English in your ear.

Outlook Origins: Tisno, Croatia

July 25 - 29

What is it? Outlook Origins is the perfect overseas festival, for those who are found on the dancefloor all weekend at home – here, you can chill with a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro, enjoying their enhanced sound quality in view of the landscapes of Tisno’s stunning beaches (or attend official festival boat party) by day, and work up a sweat at night.

Why go? Known for its wide curation of bass-heavy sounds – from jungle to drum and bass – for 2024, Outlook Origins welcomes queen of the rave Sherelle, the bouncy garage of Interplanetary Criminal, the incomparable grime MC Flowdan, and loads more. If you’re looking for an excellent mix of partying and chilling, look no further.

Rally – London, England

August 24

What is it? Rally Festival at south London’s Southwark Park is the British capital’s home for all things experimental and under-the-radar, from all over the world.

Why go? Working with grassroots music and club culture organisations from across London, the festival has curated a line-up that straddles the line between electronic and guitar music, to showcase the very best of both (and to demonstrate the magic that happens when you mix the two). From the magical, warm synth-pop played by Copenhagen’s ML Buch, to the layered, ambient style of New York’s Chanel Beads, there’s bound to be something for every fan of underground, innovative music here.

Wacken Open Air – Wacken, Germany

July 29 - August 3

What is it? If you like your riffs face-melting, Wacken is for you: there’s nowhere better in Europe to experience the very best in heavy music.

Why go? If you missed Download in the UK or you simply fancy a trip to the underrated city of Wacken, we’d recommend Wacken Open Air – where the Galaxy Buds3 Pro Real Time Interpreter feature can help you out with all of your German translation* needs, so any misunderstandings at the bar or the merch stand need not apply. This year’s lineup includes big-league bands like Korn, Cradle of Filth and Behemoth, so you can be reassured that you’ll leave having enjoyed your fair share of circle pits and crowd surfing.
