Sunbathing au naturel on a nudist beach is one of life’s simple pleasures. There are few things quite so freeing as baring all – especially amongst likeminded beachgoers. Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it, that’s all we’ll say.
However, obviously there’s a time and place for being in the nuddy on a beach. Some places are much more private and open-minded than others. To find out which beaches around the world are best for nude sunbathing, swimwear company Pour Moi ranked them based on which ones allow it (obvs) and reviews from nudists who’ve actually been.
Top of Pour Moi’s list was Haulover Beach Park in the US state of Florida. Haulover is a well-established nude sunbathing hotspot, with over 600 metres of the beach having been officially designated as a naturist-friendly spot since 1991. It’s also the longest and most popular nudist beach in the entire US of A.
Next up was Praia de Tambaba in Brazil, a much more private beach than Haulover Beach Park, and third came Red Beach in Greek holiday hotspot Santorini. Spain was apparently the best country overall for nude sunbathing, with four Spanish beaches in the top 20.
Here are the best beaches in the world for nude sunbathing, according to Pour Moi.
- Haulover Beach Park, USA
- Praia de Tambaba, Brazil
- Red Beach, Greece
- Patara Beach, Turkey
- Playa de los Muertos, Spain
- Playa Zipolite, Mexico
- Es Trenc, Spain
- Praia do Abricó, Brazil
